Buy your veg from the market

29 November 2008 No Comment

I’ve been meaning to get a routine on where every two weeks i go to the market and buy a rucksack full of fruit and veg. Then cook with it, freeze the meals and eat at our leisure. This week i did, and this is what i got for 12 quid!

12 quids worth of fruit and veg
Cost wise its huge plus, quality wise, yep, i think these taste better than somerfiend (which is literally a stones throw away), and while it is more hassle, i do love markets, and the whole bartering thing.  I think this is most definitely the way to go, and soups, lasagne, pies, and casseroles are just the beginning.

Here is a small example of what you can make, (pastry not included)
