To date i’ve never asked a promoter for a gig, but this year i’m looking to really push things forward and start playing further afield, so i had a go at writing an EPK electronic press kit inspired by this post from dj tech tools.
I’ve been on a mission for a few years now in order to get to a place where i feel comfortable adapting to any dancefloor and get the same level of response as i was getting on the breaks floors. I also wanted to be able …

Started this year off with an awesome gig at the aforementioned New Years Eve party at PST, organised by Jibbering Jon (Tangawizi) and Robin (Friendly Fire) Jam Jah.
The night saw corking sets from some of Birmingham’s finest, and attracted a top crowd of people who filled both floors with proper good vibes from 11 – 7 am.

I’ve a few gigs over the next month or so with some of my favourite artists. The Correspondents were one i’ve been hoping to play with for a while now, so i was well chuffed to be asked to dj after them courtesy of the Brotherhood of Filth who are the forces behind 5th Element promotions.
There was a few setup issues, so i ended up playing on cds as opposed the sample laden swing to drum & bass set i’d been working on, but it seemed to be the right …

With all the xmas madness i still havent blogged about what a great experience this was. (New Year’s resolution is to get a lot more active on this site!)
For now here’s a little footage that Pyn caught of the great dancing from the huge cast making a massive dancing circle and taking it in turns to bust their moves.
Ages from 15 – 65 were dancing, so a seriously mixed bag of genres was needed, which thankfully went down really well.

After kicking off to a great start with Quantic back in June, Cinephonic well and truly settled into its groove with it’s second outing this month. It was a monster weekend with the Mr Elephant team also ramming the bull’s head the night before with a funk flavoured Party Rockin Mammal Session. A little sleep later and we’re back again at the Hare and Hounds for a very different animal….
