The Anti-World Festival
This weekend, i was joined by the rest of the Archangel agency and a crew of lovely people at the hotly anticipated Antiworld festival
First time me and Russ (R Caine) had played together, and we were joined by a real snake sporting female mc sharing her consciouse rhymes. Wicked set, but it was a shame that all the stages got merged, as it meant all the breaks had been moved to the first half of the friday and saturday, with the techno on the latter half.
Archangel stage was the place for me though, with an amazing performance by Subsource ,and some diverse filthy breakbeat action from a phat line up.
The festival itself unfortunatley suffered a lot more from the ticket sales than just fewer stages, with hardly any of the big headliners appearing due to no-one getting paid. To top it all off at around 12pm on sunday the music was closed down, apparently due to the firm who were paid to sort out the sewage, dumping it in a nearby military sewage base, only to see it reappear again somewhere close by. :/ There is a lot of debate around the situation, but i read what seemed to be a genuine statement and apology from the organisers backing up the sewage explanation… Either way i didnt get to play out the headline slot i was asked to cover for Coldcut.
)
Nevertheless Sunday was spent spending some proper quality time in the chillout areas, where the music was generally spot on. All in all, a top weekend, with some real nice vibes, but a shame about the ticket sales.
