Just back from the clear up of our Xhibition, and still reeling from what a great night i had in the Cross on Saturday! I missed all the happenings around Moseley in the day, as i working on my set for the night took a lot longer than i’d anticipated, but from a dj point of view i’m a so glad i did, as that was sincerely one of the best dj experiences i’ve had, and proper great night of music and visuals…

And its a piece of work! Well done to all who had a hand in putting this together!…

or as much as i can remember off the top of my head anyway!..Don’t normally do these, but it feels a good thing for me to do as they say it’s always good to see where you’ve been before deciding where you are going to go…

is this saturday at BUSK, and the crew have been doing some amazing work this week, transforming the 3 room working mens club into a venue ready for the huge show that is Digital Distopia.

We’ve had to keep a bit quiet about the venue while it gets it’s license confirmed, but we can now reveal (for the second time!) that its going to be breaking in a new venue called BUSK (which is on Gough Street, opposite the Alexandra Theatre)..

For now all i’m going to say is that the theme is about digital distopia, and there was some extremely exciting happenings being discussed at the meeting last night.

After looking at over 30 venues, (and having to say goodbye to some real life financial support from New Generation Arts because of it), i am pleased to announce that we have finally found the perfect venue to house, our 3 stages and 80 participants for our forthcoming Project X Presents event, to be held on Saturday September 13th 2008…

First a skate park, …then a warehouse, …. a brief experimental X-Lab:VL to break in Concrete ….where next???

So the good news is that the dvd track fits really well apparently, and that all the hard work has been worth it, and the bad news is we’ve had to postpone Project X Presents on the 14th of June, as we have no place to do it

Apparently our last chance (which was the Que Club in Birmingham) is not feasible as there is so much other stuff going on, and there are simply no other options at this stage, which means we are going to have to postpone it.

A mammoth weekend started with a 3 and a half hour set at Project X Presents, followed by my first community workshop, and then a gig with the Heels, and ended with a very nice 18 hour sleep!

I was pretty nervous on Thursday night, as it was to be my first outing with Traktor scratch, 2 months ahead of my proposed schedule! Alongside wondering if my laptop could handle 4 hours and 4 decks, Steve had been unavailable to rehearse til Thursday, and i wasn’t sure if this new interface would be too much to get used to, if i should really play out all this new music, and if to revert back to just my trusty cdj’s. The next morning however i got more music prepared, had a few more run-throughs of the Completion duet, and started to look forward to the evenings proceedings once again…
